Dream No. 7 (Redux)
As I dream
I feel my flame lost once again
This sanity
A beacon somewhere off amongst the stars
Now wandering for all time,
Trapped here within my mind
And I weep
As I feel the ravages of time.
Fearing sleep
That I might somehow be deafened by the cries
Of tears I can’t recall
I must relive them all
As I dream, the madness wanes
Can’t I
Just walk right through these walls?
And now I’m free
To once again bathe in the light
But for how long?
And will I ever see the end of night?
Can no one hear my cries?
Beneath these astral skies
I finally see
The prison where I keep myself
The shackles that I forged
And now I cry no more
As I dream, my soul is free
sailing the stars, as I dream
As I dream, I conquer the pain
If only I could know this fragile peace when I’m awake
As I dream, the answers seem
A simple thing, in my dreams
As I dream, I feel no pain
Must I return from this dream?
