The Tree of Shadows
Prologue
Ring of bones in brightest moon,
Ne’er shall the tales unfold
Thou must needs find a crimson shade
To hear the tales told
Echoed whispers in the night,
The questions in thy dreams
Shalt bare the door to Nevermore
When shadow spreads her leaves
Chapter I—The Dark
Standing tall the bones of earth
Cry silent to the sky
The path between so rarely seen
And never by the eye
Rest well beneath her branches
And live each of thy dreams
For in the shadow of a shadow
Nothing’s as it seems
Chapter II—The Light
Ever onward, seeking truth
Bound by where thou hast been
Some tales old again unfold
With lessons woven in
Amidst the darkness and the light
Are love and sister hate
Between which now and ever more
Thy truth and lies await
Chapter III—To be a Shadow
Yet tarry not lest befall ye
The fate of most before
To spend thy years and all thy tears
Beyond that shadowed door
Ponder all thine answers
And the questions in their light
For shadows lay not in the day
And neither in the night
